gaming racing wagering australiaAnyone that hasn’t been to Down Under and wants to combine it as a “work trip” to learn more about the Australian market has the chance later this month at Gaming, Racing and Wagering Australia. Now into its second year, the event takes place from 22-24 August at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition. The Beacon Event is also this year part of the Australasian Gaming Expo.

It will be an important occasion for companies that retain an interest in moving into the Australian market as they will be able to learn more about the legislative hurdles that might be a hindrance.

Both of the conference’s main days will look at different factors that companies have to consider before moving into the country. These include the marketing, advertising and sponsorship issues that are involved, the industry’s future direction in terms of what policies and regulation. Problem gambling and harm minimization will also be looked at on the conference’s first afternoon.

Of particular interest to those in the online gambling industry will be a panel looking at whether the country can afford not to regulate the online gaming industry.

Some of those that have already been confirmed as speakers include Luke Brill, Head of Marketing and Gaming at Centrebet, Cormac Barry, CEO of Sportsbet, and Tony Clark, Executive Officer at the Australian Internet Bookmakers Association.

There’s obviously then the parties that inevitably accompany any event that has a hint of the online gambling industry’s involvement. Thankfully Sydney is one of those places that you can easily party until the lights are coming up.

If it sounds like your kind of thing get over to the registration page on the Beacon Events site and get your name on the door.
