Ongame announces GSOP; OpenBet recruits two

GSOP live

GSOP liveOngame has announced that it will be launching a second season of the Grand Series of Poker (GSOP) Live. The live tournament series aimed at recreational players gets underway at Man Utd’s Old Trafford from 2 August. Managing director of Ongame Network David Pittel, told eGaming Review: “The first season worked out better than we could have ever hoped and confirmed our view that there is clearly demand for a network-sponsored tour. For GSOP Live season 2 we’re promising more in every way – more stops, more exciting venues, and plenty more great poker action.”

OpenBet has announced the appointment of two new members of staff. Nikos Kryvossidis joins the provider as senior vice president. The role will see him head up the company’s sportsbook operations. According to eGaming Review, Kryvossidis joins the company off the back of spending four years at Google where he was director of content and commerce partnerships. Now that’s proven big game experience right there. If you need someone who’s going to bag you the equivalent of a 30 touchdown season then you can’t go far wrong with one of the G men. His role will also mean he oversees the engineering and product development. This is in addition to him creating and delivering new products.

What’s that I hear you cry?! OpenBet has made two appointments in one day!? Fricking hell!

The second of the day is Mark Paling. The founder of Electracade, a business acquired by OpenBet three years ago, is the new commercial content director. He will be tasked with leading the in-house games team and aiming to bring the company success in the commercial aspect of the business.

That’s enough “O” news for one day.
