Isildur1 loses again and Bodog announces WSOP qualifiers

News from the world of online poker

Isildur1 lost the latest Superstar ShowdownViktor Blom made it two defeats in two weeks as he succumbed to the latest challenger in the PokerStars Superstar Showdown.

After last week’s surprising loss to Daniel Negreanu, the stage was set for Isildur1 to regain his crown, and pride, in Sunday’s clash with the latest challenger, Scott “urnotindangr” Palmer.

The match up with Palmer is another two legged clash and saw the challenger take the first leg by less than one buy-in. Palmer finished up with $5,425, an amount he will carry over to next week’s clash.

This was also the quickest complete Superstar Showdown. The two players raced through the 2,500 hands of $50/$100 NLHE in a record four hours and one minute.

Isildur1 is right now starting to remind us of a Scandinavian delicacy such is the streakiness of his play.

Bacon may well be the preserve of neighbors Denmark but it’s characterizing Blom’s performance in the SuperStar Showdown.

It was the Canadian variety that showed him the way last week and if he doesn’t change over to a different cut before next Sunday’s clash we could see him lose a few more until he turns it around.

Bodog WSOP qualifiers announcedIn other poker news, Bodog has kicked off its World Series of Poker (WSOP) qualifying tournaments for players looking to reach the Main Event in Vegas this July.

Players can enter the qualifying tournaments for as little as $1 and may be in with the chance of a shot at the $9m Main Event prize.

“Bodog has a long history of sending players to the WSOP and we would love another of our players to take a bracelet in 2011,” says Bodog Poker Manager Nicholas Sims. “Most poker players dream of ending up in Vegas partying, with a WSOP bracelet, not to mention the millions of dollars that can be won at WSOP.”

To enter any of the tournaments simply visit Bodog Poker and you will see the vast array of WSOP qualifying options that are available.

Oh, and we almost forgot to state that if you make Sin City you can be sure that there will be the usual array of Bodog parties to get your teeth stuck in to. Can’t be better than that can it?
