ice-totally-gaming-newsAs the upcoming ICE Totally Gaming conference is fast approaching, with each day comes news of what more we can expect to see if we should decide to attend the year’s largest conference to cover the entire gambling industry. The party schedule has already been released courtesy of Becky Liggero but in terms of exhibitors what can we expect?

Influential cross-industry group, Business In Sport & Leisure (BISL), which represents the vital sport and leisure sectors in the UK, will be using the event to wave the flag to politicians on behalf of the UK gambling industry.

In preparation for their publication of the Gambling Prevalence study, due end of February, they will host a group of MPs from the All Party Leisure Group and Betting and Gaming Group, as well as making two high level seminar presentations.

Steve McKenna, Gambling and Marketing Executive at BISL, explained: “UK gambling certainly suffers from a negative narrative in the media which discriminates against the business in a number of ways not least in terms of deregulation and the introduction of more progressive gambling legislation. ICE allows us to show the industry at its innovative best and we will be taking the opportunity to demonstrate the socially responsible nature of the business to our invited parliamentarians.”

Meanwhile International Gaming Technology (IGT), a leading designer of the games players love, is using ICE to showcase their latest online slot game Star Trek. Based on the 2009 film, the game is a 30-payline slot featuring visual features from the motion picture.

Oliver Lofthouse, Executive Director, EMEA, Interactive said: “Star Trek is a major release for IGT and has been developed as a key project over many months to ensure strong brand and game alignment that will excite players. Branded games are an important part of our product offering, and Star Trek takes the genre to another level through its many immersive features and genuine video content from the film. We look forward to exhibiting the game at ICE at our stand, 3430.”

Whether you have to don a pair of spock ears to play it has not yet been revealed.
