Yet another online poker bill heading to California legislators

Intrastate lobbying group Poker Voters of America (PVA) has given lawmakers three bills designed to help the state shake its creditors for just a bit longer. PVA president Melanie Brenner recently told the eGaming Review that the bill with the best chance of passing would re-imagine Senator Rod Wright’s existing gambling bill to focus specifically on online poker.

“The bill is different from Wright’s bill, it has taken out limits on the number of [operating] hubs, and introduces a further income distribution component, granting further benefits to stakeholders such as the tribes,” she told the news provider.

Wright’s bill in its original form will also be reintroduced, as well as a move to name the local Morongo tribe an exclusive monopoly contract for online poker in California.
