Bodog offering odds as Tote contest nears last fence

tote-final-fenceSale of the UK horseracing’s Tote is entering the final furlong and as we reported earlier today the final contenders have been announced. The list contains all manner of bookmakers, private investors, pari-mutuel providers, and even a charitable foundation. As long as the government get their money though, you can’t imagine them being that bothered about it, and if they don’t get enough money they can always raise tuition fees even further.

As with any contest, the punter wants odds so that they can wager on who they think will come out at the end with the in-need-of-a-polish trophy that is the entire Tote business. Bodog have come up with the goods in this department and we’re not talking about the polish, as an article in the Independent points out.

Reuben Brothers are currently the front-runners at 7/2, Sportech at 4/1, another bookmaker Betfred and Chris Bell’s consortium at 5/1, with Martin Broughton and Paddy Power both at 6/1. As with many great horseracing events though, the favourite rarely comes out on top so watch this space!
