Betfred remains betting provider at national stadium

betfred-wembley-dealAfter losing the right to hold the 2018 World Cup to Russia last week, you’d have forgiven the FA if they’d chosen to stay in the shadows for a considerable amount of time. During the bidding process, they were promised a number of votes but only received two of the eight and were subsequently stabbed in the back by many of the FIFA Executive. This hasn’t put off the English bookmaker Betfred though.

After being given the chance to renew their partnership with Wembley Stadium they grabbed it with both hands. Imagine it now – Fred Done hugging the FA bigwigs until they go blue in the face – it happened!

Betfred will remain the Official Betting Provider to Wembley Stadium until 2014 offering kiosks around the stadium during games that are played there.

Betfred boss Fred Done said, “I am delighted to have extended the deal with Wembley Stadium. We have been the Official Betting Supplier since the new stadium opened in 2007 and I am delighted with the association. I am very proud to see Betfred kiosks at Wembley and as a proud England fan, I hope I can pay out a few quid to my fellow England supporters over the next four years.”

Head of Sponsorship at the FA Peter Daire also commented: “Having an in-stadium betting provider is an important part of a sports fan’s day out so I am really pleased that we have renewed our deal with Betfred, who have been a key partner of Wembley since the stadium opened”.

Umm, have I missed something here? Where’s the obligatory moan about us not getting the World Cup then? It’s not even been a week yet for Christ’s sake!
