ladbrokes-pulls-out-chinaLate last week the iGaming rumour-mill was at fever pitch with the news that Ladbrokes had made the decision to suspend all operations in China and Hong Kong.

The following has circulated regarding the issue:

Dear Affiliate,

We hope all is well.

Due to technical problems, as of tonight Ladbrokes has taken the decision to suspend our operations to Chinese and Hong Kong customers across all channels and products until further notice.
This news is now highlighted on the Chinese and Hong Kong websites and the relevant players have been informed.
If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards,

The Ladbrokes Affiliate Team

Nevertheless, why would they decide to make such a move?

At the time of publication no one was available from Ladbrokes to comment on the story, we have our own theories on why they may have decided on this course of action though.

The suspicion in some circles is that the real reason behind them shutting down in China is the fact they’re publicly trading. As we’ve said on countless occasions in the past, this is the wrong structure for Internet gaming companies.

If we receive any further comment from Ladbrokes you will hear about it right here!
