Is Capello looking towards Carroll for success?

andy-carroll-englandKept on the straight and narrow it looks as though Andy Carroll is the number nine Newcastle United fans have always dreamed of. He may spend some time on the wrong side of the law and be in a side where his teammates seem at times to think that having the worst criminal record makes you the best player – none of the misdemeanors seem to affect young Mr Carroll on the pitch though. The striker has seven goals so far this campaign and is now being tipped for improved things by people from all angles.

England manager Fabio Capello has obviously noticed that he’s one of a select bunch of English strikers who can actually score a goal. This means the call-up to the squad for next week’s friendly with France and the obligatory run out for the last 20 minutes.

William Hill spokesperson Graham Sharpe commented: “He’s hot at the moment and punters feel that if Fabio ever wants to try him out this is the time despite his off the field problems”

Hills also have the Newcastle talisman at 12/1 to finish the season as Premier League top scorer.
