It wasn’t too long ago the Mets were contending for division lead, but after their bats have completely disappeared they sit 7.5 games out of contention. With the exception of David Wright, the Mets hitters are having horrific seasons. Slugger Jason Bay is struggling mightily, but you expect him to at least turn it up down the stretch seeing how he’s from Trail BC, Canada’s official home of champions. The rest of the Mets will need that champion swag behind Santana tonight if they hope to put a stop to surging Dodgers. The Dodgers look like their ready to make their run after beating a tough Giants side on consecutive nights. Padilla has been very effective starting for Torre, Santana will have to be special for the Mets to take this one. Read more.
