The European Sports Security Association (ESSA) has said that not one individual instance of suspicious betting activity was detected and passed on to FIFA at the World Cup. Hmm, well that’s suspicious in itself. The betting patterns might not have been questionable but the football patterns certainly were. Was nobody at ESSA watching Italy, France or England?
