Olympics want ‘global watchdog’ to oversee sports betting

The International Olympic Committee is keen to set up a ‘global watchdog’ to keep an eye out for suspicious betting patterns on Olympic sporting events. The proposed body would be modeled on the World Anti-Doping Agency, with an aim to put a damper the possibilities of match-fixing and the like. Of course, FIFA already has something like this keeping an eye on the World Cup, but there doesn’t appear to be anything that can stop big-mouthed small-brained politicians like Umberto Bossi from planting suspicious thoughts in the minds of the public.
