New UK online gambling law proposals discussed at seminar

TaxMonsterThe coming to power of the Con-Lib coalition government has left the gambling industry in some uncertainty over new legislation proposed by the Remote Gaming Review, which recommended offshore operators be required to obtain licenses from the UK Gambling Commission and close the loophole that prevents them from making Levy contributions.

GTECH G2’s second Thought Leadership Seminar brought legal and online gambling executives together to discuss the proposed new changes in gambling laws, which may in fact be scrapped if they are met with too much criticism and are deemed to be too punitive. However, given the dire state of the UK economy it will be a huge surprise if the new government doesn’t try to milk the industry for all it’s worth. Read more.
