Who’da thunk it? France, that perennial whipping boy of American conservatives, has done what the Tea Party has proven incapable of doing, namely, smacking down socialists. France’s Constitutional Council has rejected appeals by the French Socialist Party to strike down the new French gaming laws. Bizarrely, part of the Socialists’ complaint was that the law violated the French public’s right to health protection.
