US States will legalise online gambling regardless of UIGEA

With the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) set to become law on 1 June it remains unclear whether or not Senator Harry Reid will actually introduce an online gambling bill into Congress in time or not. However, even if the UIGEA does take effect in just under three weeks individual states are nonetheless looking to legalise online gambling to cover their spiralling budget deficits. So let’s hear it for those rebel states California, New Jersey, Florida and Connecticut. Everyone else can go fiddle while Washington burns…
