If Betfair Australia chief executive Andrew Twaits has his way, you will no longer be able to pop into a bookies and have a cheeky flutter on the nags. Not without registering your bet in some way. Twaits believes the time has come to make all betting traceable in order to eradicate match-fixing – and it would help. But it’s a measure that will meet with stiff resistance from those of us who enjoy a private punt without anyone (ie the Missus) finding out.
