The favourite for the Kentucky Derby, Eskendereya, has been declared a non-runner by trainer Todd Pletcher after developing a problem with his left foreleg. The news will come as a huge blow to racing fans, many of whom had backed Eskendereya into 2/1 after watching him dominating the fields in both the Wood Memorial and the Fountain of Youth Stakes and putting in peerless speed figures on dirt.
