A while back we told you about the Motion Picture Association of America’s vehement objections to the movie box office futures market being proposed by Cantor Fitzgerald and others. We now have details from that letter sent by the MPAA to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Given today’s move by the SEC to file fraud charges against Goldman Sachs for their questionable dealings with ‘financial instruments’ related to home mortgages, regulators may not be so keen to expose any more industries to speculators.
