The grammar in the second linked article isn’t exactly the best but I’d like to see you try and write in Hainanese. Anyway, it’s not how you say it but what you say that counts and Hainan’s Provincial Party Secretary Wei Liucheng is saying that the Chinese island is not going to take on Macau at the casino game. Hainan is in the midst of a massive economic boom, with tourists turning up in their droves with bags of money to buy or build everything from appartments to hotels, golfing complexes to greyhound tracks. But not, apparently, casinos. Wei’s words will be music to the ears of gambling Mecca, Macau, who could well do without the local competition. Read more.
