Tiger Woods’ Day 3 at the Masters is just underway as we type this, but we can’t help marvel that on Day 2, he told the media that his remarkable return to form was similar to Ben Hogan’s shrugging off a near-fatal car accident in 1949 to win the 1950 U.S. Open tournament. It’s a perfectly apt comparison, except for the minor fact that Hogan threw himself in front of his wife in the passenger seat of their car to protect her from the Greyhound bus bearing down on them, and Tiger threw himself on a dozen or more floozies to protect Elin from having to have sex with him ever again.
