UK government prepares to close loophole on overseas operators

The likes of Victor Chandler, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Sporting Bet are by no means illegal, but they have moved offshore for tax reasons – and now the government are preparing to close the loophole. A consultation on the introduction of new licence requirements for overseas online gambling firms is under way and so firms based in Gibraltar, Malta and the Isle of Man are about to get the brown end of the shitty stick.
