Word has it that Mastercard’s purge on online gambling accounts has been a vast manual operation.

The payments are actually being intercepted, so players are not notified by MasterCard that the operator has not received the funds. The player is then billed, while the payment processor offering MasterCard on behalf of the online casino is fined.
