TCSJohnHuxley unveil partially submerged ‘Ocean Blackjack’ at Vanuatu casino

tcsjohnhuxley-ocean-blackjack-vanuatu-casinoGaming products supplier TCSJOHNHUXLEY has unveiled what it’s calling “the world’s first seawater blackjack table.”

We looked long and hard at the calendar to ensure that this wasn’t April 1, but the company appears serious about having installed the partially submerged gaming table on the beach of the Iririki Island Resort on the South Pacific island of Vanuatu.

Guest of the property’s Jewel Casino now have the option of doffing their shoes and wading out into the surf to gamble away the kids’ college fund playing blackjack with the waves lapping up against the legs of their stools.

The manufacturers insist that the swim-up gaming table is made from “high grade steel metallic filings to resist corrosion” and a wooden frame hewn from “Marine grade material.” Once assembled, the entire leg arrangement is sealed to guard against “moisture ingress.”

TCSJOHNHUXLEY claims all these precautions will ensure there is “no swelling or distortion of the table from the surrounding dampness.” The company makes no such claim regarding any dampness emanating from the tears of losing players.

Managing director Rebecca Kingswell said TCSJOHNHUXLEY said the table’s development “took some experimenting” to ensure the end product would enjoy “the best lifespan possible in light of its unusual conditions.”

Iririki’s owners are planning to open a sister integrated resort in four years’ time that will become Vanuatu’s first six-star property. In the meantime, director of casino operations Bernie Millman is celebrating his venue having birthed “the world’s first seawater game” that he predicts will go on to become “the most photographed blackjack table in the world.”

Tune in next week, when the table becomes even more famous due to a player being attacked by the world’s first non-metaphoric card shark.
