3-Barrels: Esfandiari to Appear on Facebook Live Video; Brunson Cancer Scare; And It’s All Kicking Off at the SHRPO

3-Barrels of pure value including a chance to fire off some questions in the general direction of Antonio Esfandiari; Doyle Brunson fights off another cancer scare, and what has someone put in the Red Bull over at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open?

What would you do if a stranger grabbed your arm and started to feel your pulse during a big pot?

That’s the predicament Connor Drinan found himself him in during a hand played out in the $10,000 buy-in World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale.

Call me old-fashioned, but I would assume the Mike Caro’s Book of Tells lover is just having a bit of fun. Not everyone agrees. Responses ranged from a one round penalty, disqualification, or punching him repeatedly in the face. Here is what Matt Savage thinks of the situation.

I’m just glad it wasn’t Antonio Esfandiari in the hand otherwise God knows what the guy would have touched to get a read?

3-Barrels: Esfandiari to Appear on Facebook Live Video; Brunson Cancer Scare; And It’s All Kicking Off at the SHRPOI think this is a whole load of nothing.

Jason Wheeler & Mukul Pahuja v Mike Dentale & Lilly Kiletto

Forget Olivier Busquet v JC Alvarado how about tag team action between Jason Wheeler & Mukul Pahuja v Mike Dentale and Lilly Kiletto?

Players who were watching a satellite into the $25,000 High Roller at the SHRPO very nearly got the chance to see this little beauty after a flare up between Dentale, and Wheeler/Pahuja erupted after a hand between Dentale and Kiletto that lead to accusations of collusion.

Writing on 2+2 under the pseudonym ‘jdpc27′ Wheeler explained how the satellite was 10-handed at the final table, with seven players guaranteed a seat, the eighth would win $17,000, and the ninth and tenth would win the skin from a rice pudding.

Wheeler was returning to the game after a break when he noticed Kiletto and Dentale having a conversation outside of the tournament area. Nothing unusual about that you may say, but what about this?

The blinds are 3,000/6,000 and Kiletto is in the small blind with only 4,000. The action folds to Kiletto, who puts her chips in, and the dealer announces ‘all-in’. Dentale is in the big blind, looks at his cards and quickly says, “I fold” before throwing them into the muck. Kiletto throws her hand into the muck, and the players start wondering what the hell is going on?

Cutting a very long story short: (you can read the extended version here). Pahuja and Wheeler admonish Dentale for throwing his hand into the big blind when it should go to showdown. Dentale pleads his innocence. The floor attends. Dentale is asked what his hand was so it can be retrieved from the muck. He can’t remember. Kiletto tells the floor she had [7c] [4c], and then Dentale suddenly remembers that he may have had an ace? The dealer turns up [Ah] [4h], and all hell breaks loose including a lot of talk about doing very strange things to each other’s mother.

The floor forces the hand to be played out, and Kiletto doubles when she hits a seven. She is eliminated soon after. Dentale receives a two round penalty.

Did the pair collude?

Is this cheating?

Antonio Esfandiari to Appear on Poker Central’s Facebook Video

Fans of Antonio Esfandiari will be pleased to hear that he will be Brent Hanks special guest on Poker Central’s Facebook Live Video at 4 pm (PT) Wednesday, April 20.

A live chat feed will run alongside the interview meaning anyone tuned in (and you can do that right here) will be able to ask the Magician any question they like.

Let’s hope that Esfandiari answers slightly more questions than the last time he appeared in a format like this. The Magician really did work his magic when he appeared as a guest on Reddit’s Ask Me Anything (AMA) and spent the entire time dodging every question that was fired in his general direction.

Doyle Brunson Escapes Another Cancer Scare

Doyle Brunson keeps on rivering cancer.

In March 2015, the poker world was grateful to report that he had successfully emerged from surgery to remove cancerous growths from his head. He was 81-years old at the time. It was the 12th time he had gone under the scalpel.

On Monday, Brunson revealed that he had once again been to the quack’s to deal with another spot of cancer. Once again, the Godfather of poker had given it a good whipping.
