The London Royals are the early favorites to win the inaugural Global Poker League (GPL) according to BetStars.

PokerStars very own sports betting outlet are the first to offer odds on the GPL. They are offering a wide variety of different bets including outrights, conference bets, and individual matchup bets.

Montreal Nationals

Montreal Nationals Team Manager Marc-Andre Ladouceur has included himself in the team, along with Montreal native Jason Lavallee.

Ladouceur plays online as ‘pocketpayett’ and has over $1m in online tournament earnings. The man from Montreal also has over $1.7m in live tournament earnings including a 63rd and 13th place finish in the 2011 and 2012 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.

Lavallee has over $2.1m in online earnings where he plays under the name of ‘StatusUp’ and over $2.4m in live tournament earnings including runner-up finishes in European Poker Tour (EPT) and World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Events, and an EPT High Roller title.

The Hong Kong Stars received a double influx of PokerStars powerhouses as Team Manager Celina Lin decided to include her talents in the squad, and Randy ‘nanonoko’ Lew also joined the team that starts the GPL as the outside bet.

Celina Lin has earned close to $600,000 in live tournaments including two victories in the PokerStars Macau Poker Cup. Lew has made close to a million dollars playing online under the alias ‘nanonoko’, and over $1.1m playing live tournaments including victory in the Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Main Event in Macau back in 2011.
