Changing of the guard: Unibet Group’s CFO, Novomatic comms director stepping down

A flurry of resignations and passing of torches marked the end of the year for some companies in the online gambling industry.

Changing of the guard: Unibet Group’s CFO, Novomatic comms director stepping downFirst up is Unibet Group’s Graham Stretch, who announced on Monday that he is stepping down from his position as chief financial officer—a position he’s held for five years—effective March 31. But the company said Graham will still be around in “an advisory capacity to support the group on strategic projects.”

Stretch will be replaced by Albin de Beauregard, currently Unibet Group’s head of internal audit. De Beauregard joined the company in 2011 after the group acquired Eurosportbet where he was the chief financial officer.

De Beauregard, who has a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting, began his career in 2004 working in investor relations for Bouygues Groups’ publicly listed media subsidiary TF1. In 2007, he became investment manager at Serendipity Investment, and then joined Eurosportsbet in 2009.

“I am very pleased that Albin will take over as CFO as he has got in depth knowledge of the group and has proven himself and delivered excellent value in the various roles he has had within the group since joining in 2011,” Unibet CEO Henrik Tjarnstrom said in a statement.

NASDAQ Stockholm-listed Unibet is one of Europe’s largest listed online gambling operators, providing services in 21 languages to more than 13.2 million customers in over 100 countries.

Meanwhile, Novomatic AG’s director of communications and business development is also packing his bags to begin “a new chapter” in his life.

In a statement, the Austria-based business said David Orrick will leave the company at the end of the year.

“I leave Novomatic with many happy memories and with thanks to the many friends, colleagues and business partners with whom I have cooperated so successfully over the past nine years,” Orrick said in a statement.

Novomatic has yet to name who will replace Orrick.

“This was a very difficult decision for me but I now need to turn the page and begin to write a new chapter in my life,” Orrick said.
