The Shark Cage Season 2: Ivey & Negreanu Star in Stacked Final Table

The Shark Cage Season 2: Ivey & Negreanu Star in Stacked Final TableThe PokerStars.com Shark Cage returns for a second season and produces a final table lineup to give any production team in the world wet dreams.

PokerStars have brought the Shark Cage out for a second dipping. They have struck gold. The final table lineup is a peach.

The made for TV show combines a very Team PokerStars Pro heavy professional poker player line-up with celebrities from the world of sport, screen, modelling, and a sprinkling of Internet qualifiers.

PGA Tour golfer Sergio Garcia, former Brazilian World Cup star Ronaldo, former England rugby star Kyren Bracken and Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) legend Tito Ortiz played in the heats representing sports stars. Avengers star Don Cheadle, and Hobbit star Sean Astin joined the heats from the silver screen.

The final celebrity added to the line up was Sara Chafak. The former Miss Finland was the undoubted star of Season 1 when she bluffed Ronnie Bardah, thus sending him to the Shark Cage, in a hand played over 3.2m times on YouTube.

Last year we saw Griffin Benger win the $1m first prize when he beat the former England rugby star Mike Tindall in heads-up action. Season 2 saw the cream rise to the top. Not a single sports star or online qualifier made it through to the final.

Shark Cage Season 2 Final Table

  • Daniel Negreanu
  • Phil Ivey
  • Maria Ho
  • Jennifer Shahade
  • Andrew Akkari
  • Antonio Esfandiari

Not all the heats have been shown on TV yet. The line up for the final table leaked via a few Facebook and Twitter social media handles.

The final table contains 20 World Series of Poker bracelets, and Negreanu, Esfandiari and Ivey alone have won over $80m between them in live tournaments. Maria Ho and Jennifer Shahade ensure it’s not an all-male affair. The banter and camaraderie will be of top quality, leaving the lack of a rags to riches story as the only gripe.

There is a million dollars to be won in this winner takes all affair.
