Open Sports Day aims to bring locals and iGaming crowd together

Open Sports Day aims to bring locals and iGaming crowd togetherA group of iGaming volunteers teamed up earlier this year and started working on a fund raising sports day. It’s goal, to bring the Malta iGaming community closer together with the Maltese public. Malta is home to some 300 gaming companies who employ an impressive 9,000 strong workforce.

The team behind the event consists of prominent figures within the local and gaming communities of the island, including a number of CEOs, top-level event organisers and a respected lawyer. Some of the names organizing the event include:

Dennis Dyhr-Hansen – CEO Matching Visions

Kevin Buttigieg – CEO Remax Malta

Erik Gjerde – Highlight Media

Ramona Mifsud – BMIT Ltd

Jeremy Charles Grech – JCG Ltd

The event itself will feature a full day of sports and leisure activities at the Marsa Athletic Track. Over thirty gaming companies will each field a team of ten employees to take part in an action-packed day of fun and competition.

In addition to the traditional running, throwing and jumping events, the sports event will feature a number of unique activities for C-level executives and other employees from the various gaming departments.

The event presents excellent opportunities for locals in Malta to meet and greet the iGaming crowd and find out more about the iGaming industry. Whether it’s students, investors, or just curious people, everyone can come together and network, all in the name of charity.

Proceeds from the event will go towards three just causes; Puttinu Cares, Inspire and the Remax Foundation. Her Excellency, the President of Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, will be present for the opening of the Games on September 19, as well as a number of other influential and exciting guests.

A press conference for the event will be held on August 19 at the Westin Resort in St Julian’s, where the Hon. Dr Jose Herrera, responsible for the gaming industry in Malta, Gaming Malta, the MGA and related bodies, will address the press.

The general public is not only encouraged to attend but also take part in this sports event. Further details are accessible online at www.maltasportsday.com.
