2015 WCOOP to be BIGGEST EVER; 70 Events, $45m Guaranteed, and a Ton of Tough Choices

PokerStars announce that the 2015 World Championship of Online Poker will be the biggest ever with 70 events, $45m in guaranteed prize money and a $51,000 buy-in event.

2015 WCOOP to be BIGGEST EVER; 70 Events, $45m Guaranteed, and a Ton of Tough ChoicesDo men or women run the largest organizations in the poker world?

It’s obvious.

There’s a clue in the design of the next ‘in’ thing.

What is that next ‘in’ thing?

It’s to be bigger and better than everyone else.

Size matters and if that’s the case then it must be men who are sitting in the seats of power, because I am reliably told that women don’t really care about these minor trivialities.

The 46th World Series of Poker (WSOP) was the BIGGEST EVER, a fact that was only allowed to breathe because The Colossus was the BIGGEST EVER tournament.

Earlier this week PokerStars declared that they would host the BIGGEST EVER online buy-in when they slapped a $51,000 prize tag on a Super High Roller planned for delivery at the 14th Annual World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP).

This week they are at it again.

The schedule for the 14th Annual WCOOP has been released and it’s the BIGGEST EVER.

Amaya Gaming Inc. has given a vertical ‘whatever’ type palm wave to the faces of the 888/Bwin posse, after announcing plans to turn September’s WCOOP into a 70-event behemoth that offers $45m in guaranteed prize money. That’s four more events than last year, and a $5m increase in the guarantees.

The series will operate Sep 6 – 27 and I have picked out the events that will suck most of the mitochondria from your wallets:

• WCOOP 69: $5,200 NLHE Main Event ($10m GTD)

• WCOOP 47: $51,000 NLHE SHR ($1m GTD)

• WCOOP 3: $10,300 NLHE HU HR ($300k GTD)

• WCOOP 25: $10,300 NLHE 8-Max Re-Entry HR ($2m GTD)

• WCOOP 68: $10,300 8-Game Championship ($500k GTD)

There are five $2,100 buy-in events (including hoovering up the Super Tuesdays during this timeframe) and 12 $1,050 events.

You’ve guessed it.

This isn’t a tournament for peeps that can only afford to use the wrapping of Dundee Cake as toilet paper. If you are a regular finger popper then you can save up enough pennies to play in the two $109 buy-in events or do a Moneymaker and play in one of the zillion satellites that are currently running on the site.

Here is the full run down of events.

What’s your opinion on the BIGGEST EVER trend?

Here is mine.

It reminds me of a bunch of kids mucking about in the yard. Most of them will love it, but one or two always end up getting hurt.

At these prizes it could hurt a lot.

What do you think?
