Team Poker Sucks Balls? Not According to partypoker, Dusk till Dawn and the UK Team Challenge

Partypoker have teamed up with the Nottingham based card room Dusk till Dawn (DTD) to create the UK Team Challenge, an online team tournament that culminates in a live final at the best card room in Europe.

Team Poker Sucks Balls? Not According to partypoker, Dusk till Dawn and the UK Team ChallengeMy mate Terry likes to roll his weed into a slice of corned beef and eat it. My other mate Bobby Eggs thinks his chickens talk to him. I have another friend called Louie who would steal his blind mother’s dog. I met them all playing poker. Partypoker wants them to become my team.

The online poker site has teamed up with Dusk till Dawn (DTD) card room in Nottingham to create the UK Team Challenge. Between Aug 1 and Sep 30, teams consisting of 2-4 players are able to compete in two daily tournaments with the sole purpose of earnings points and ascending the UK Team Challenge leaderboard.

Here are the two qualifying tournaments.

• $5.50 Daily Major: $1,000 Gtd DTD Micro

• $27.50 Daily Major: $5,000 Gtd DTD Mini

Players will earn points playing in both of these events, and those who successfully reach the final table can earn up to 100,000 leaderboard points. It’s important that you know that, because teams with 250,000 leaderboard points will be invited to compete in the UK Team Challenge Live Final at DTD.

The final will be held in October, and the prize money on offer depends on how many teams register. Partypoker is going to get the ball rolling with an injection of £30,000. If 100 teams join the fray then partypoker will add £5,000 to the prizepool. An additional £5,000 is added for every 100 teams that join thereafter. The ceiling is £100,000, so well worth your time and effort.

Golan Shaked, partypoker Director said, “We’re really ramping up our ‘Poker for the People’ campaign with the UK Team Poker Challenge promotion. We want to put big money behind a popular team format and we’re giving UK poker players something unique by taking it online for the first time ever!”

If you are interested in creating a team of deadbeats then registration has already opened. It will close on Sep 1 and don’t worry if your hard won competence in online poker means you no longer have any friends, you can hop onto the UK Community forum and try and find some. It’s a little bit like Tinder except you can’t swipe right or left, it’s not a dating app, and nobody gets to bump and grind.

Rob Yong of Dusk Till Dawn said “We’re excited to be taking our popular team poker format to the next level with partypoker. Team poker events are always popular and by taking this online we’re aiming to make this the biggest one yet!”

It’s time to pack the tins of corned beef, stick the dog in the back seat, and chickens in the boot because Team Ogmore Vale is on its way.
