SIS launches upgrades to Spanish football product; Bwin moves to improve mobile app

The Spanish Liga de Futbol Profesional (LFP) has taken steps to improve its data protection by locking up a three-year deal with systems provider Satellite Information Services (SIS) to work as the league’s official – and exclusive – partner in collecting and distributing live data from matches in Liga BBVA, Liga Adelante, Segunda Division B, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa. SIS’ data collection will cover over 2,500 matches covering the three leagues, across six different divisions, all geared towards the betting market.

On top of this existing collaboration, SIS is also expected to continue improving its products to further help the Spanish League quick-hitting data and more importantly, alerts on any potential betting risks.

“We’ve come a long way in a very short time, which is a tribute to our ability to develop and innovate,” SIS Betting Commercial Director Paul Witten said in a statement. “Our feed is fast, high quality and most importantly absolutely tailored to the needs of bookmakers, their traders and their customers.”

“La Liga is one of the top three leagues in the world and we’re confident SIS’ products and services from Spain will become a must-have for betting companies,” Witten added.

Meanwhile, online gaming operator bwin.party has set into motion upgrades to its mobile sports betting application. The new and improved mobile app will begin to prominently feature gesture-based controls to make interaction simpler and easier to use. Bwin.party specifically touched on the gesture controls on its blackjack mini-game, called “Slider Blackjack”, which the company said will be an “industry-first”.

In addition to the integration of gesture-based controls, bwin.party’s mobile app upgrades will also include push notifications, live video streaming, and live scoreboard. The company said in a statement that the purpose of the upgrade was to give its customers with a “significantly enhanced user experience on both smartphones and tablets through improved navigation, a refreshed header section and new promotional areas.”

Bwin.party’s customers in Italy, Belgium, Spain and France will get first dibs on the upgraded apps, set to be available on both iOS and Android mobile phones.
