SBC Asia and AGB Monsoon Meetup Highlights

CalvinAyre.com takes us to the social networking evening Monsoon Meetup organized by Sports Betting Community Asia and Asia Gambling Brief, held on Thursday, September 4 at one of Manila’s hottest night spots, 71 Gramercy in Makati City, Philippines.

The event, organized by Sports Betting Community and Asia Gambling Brief and sponsored by EveryMatrix, First Cagayan Leisure & Resort Corporation, Neustar, DFNN and BetCoin Tech, was held again in Makati’s exclusive 71 Gramercy— a New York-style bar / lounge / restaurant on the 71st floor of Manila’s highest residential skyscraper, the Gramercy Residences.

Rosalind Wade (Asia Gambling Brief)

“This is the Monsoon Meetup because it’s obviously it’s monsoon season. I must say that it’s grown enormously since the last time. We probably, at least, double the number of people, this time. It’s fantastic. I think we did a lot of intense marketing, spreading the word this time.

Frank Schuengel (SBC Asia)

“We are now in the position where we have loads of sponsors. We actually have to send people away, which is great. It shows that we’re successful. But we’ve tried to bring this format from Europe to Asia, to have a casual and non-political, non-secretive drink with each other is working. If you look around the room, all the operators are here again, lots of CEOs. Our events are growing again. We are on to something.

Ian Sherrington (EveryMatrix)

“This is one of the few events in Manila where everybody comes together at sports betting community. We all chat and we all exchange views. And we got to get to know each other a little bit.

Oron Barber (BetcoinTech)

“We are actually based in Manila that’s why we have decided to sponsor this event. This is the second time already and we feel the Betcoin is the future in Manila. This is the right place and the right time.

Nick Salmon (Neustar)

“Neustar is sponsoring the event this year. Again it’s a great opportunity to get in front of our customers and network with our new prospects.”

Christopher Tio (DFNN)

“When it comes to igaming, you can’t find a regulated market that is as exciting and has as much potential as Manila. I wanna thank the organizer for putting this event together. And we’re very much happy to be given an ink to be part of this event. They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. What happens in Macau, never happened. What happens in Manila needs to happen again soon. So see you in Manila.
