The Global Poker Index (GPI) and DeepStacks Poker Tour have agreed a deal that will see poker’s number one ranking system become the official statistics provider for the 2014 DeepStacks Poker Tour Player of the Year race.

The Deepstacks Poker Tour will now use the same unique scoring system as the GPI 300; a scoring system that many of the players greats – including Daniel Negreanu – wholeheartedly support as the number ranking system in poker.

The agreement will also include a customized Fantasy Poker Manager for the DeepStacks Poker Tour and access to several CRM solutions.

“As we continue to grow, so do our goals of further distinguishing DSPT as a leader in the poker industry,” said DeepStacks CEO Chris Torina. “GPI has proven to be the foremost authority, in among other things, tournament tracking and statistical analysis. We find this, and their global digital presence, to be very intriguing. This partnership makes complete sense.”

“We are extremely happy to be working with the DeepStacks Poker Tour. The DSPT hosts events both in North America and around the world, further extending our GPI and THM brands”, said GPI and THM CEO Alexandre Dreyfus.  “The DSPT features a hard-working team and we’re certain that this partnership will benefit both organizations. Best of luck to all players participating in upcoming DSPT events!”

The deal is the latest in a long line of handshakes that now sees the GPI affiliated, in one way or another, with the European Poker Tour (EPT), World Poker Tour (WPT), the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the DeepStacks Poker Tour.

The full schedule of the 2014 DeepStack Poker Tour is expected to be announced soon, but advanced dates have been released for events set to be held in Lincoln City, OR (March 22-30), Turlock, CA (April 26-May 4), Los Angeles, CA (May 23-June 1, 2014), Calgary, AB (September 20-28, 2014) and Edmonton, AB (October 4-12, 2014).
