Betfair have increased their online and mobile product offering after striking a deal with Microgaming’s Quickfire platform.

We believe that their games fit extremely well with our player demographic, particularly the mobile and tablet offering, which comprises some of the most advanced mobile games in the marketplace. As technology continues to advance we feel assured that Quickfire will provide us with timely and suitable content to meet our consumer’s needs.”

The agreement was reached after Betfair revealed that their gaming segment had under performed during its recent results with a 25% year-on-year downfall in Dec 2013.

The move comes just a fortnight after Quickfire also unveiled plans for their new innovative player achievements feature that will see players collect badges and trophies for achieving certain in-game accomplishments.

BETAT Casino are to be the first of Quickfire’s customers to sample the new service and Igor Samardziski, Head of BETAT Casino, is excited about the prospect:

“At BETAT Casino we think it is important to provide a completely unique experience to our players and to reward them for recurring game play and for being loyal to our casino. Microgaming games in particular allow us to accomplish this, and thanks to the game mechanics and built-in Achievements engine from Quickfire we have created an engaging Achievements feature for our players to enjoy. We have some fantastic promotional prizes up for grabs to reward those who achieve great things; Quickfire Achievements is a real game changer and we’re thrilled to be the first to launch it!”

The new feature can be used by any of Quickfire’s partners so all eyes will be on BETAT to see how the feature progresses.

Betfair Hollywood Park Auction Makes a Mint

It wasn’t that long ago that we were bringing you the news of the impending closure of the Betfair sponsored Hollywood Park racecourse in California, and today we can inform you that most of the courses memorabilia has been auctioned off before the wrecking ball arrives.

Over 1,000 bidders raised their hands as 1,400 lots fell under the auctioneer’s gavel. Items went for prices as low as $25 and as high as $50,000 as the dismantling process started in earnest.

Betfair Hollywood Park had been one of the major racetracks in the U.S. Since it opened for business back in 1938. The track is being mowed down to make way for a housing development.
