weekly-recap-october-26There is a lot of movement in New Jersey as they continue their march towards regulated online gambling in the state as the Tropicana received their online gambling license and The Trump Plaza confirmed their partnership with Betfair. Representatives from Delaware stated confidently they’re set for their own online gambling launch on October 31.  Becky Liggero was in Philadelphia for the World Regulatory Board’s conference read her recaps for Day 1 and Day 2. Becky had a chance to talk with Dorothy Creaven of Element Wave on the Power of Push notifications and Paddy Power USA boss Eamonn Toland on Marketing the Paddy Power brand to Americans.  Scientific Games completed a buyout of WMS Industries; Amaya Gaming Group sold their Wager Logic operations and the Golden Nugget hired new director Warren Steven.  Lee Davy interviewed author Brian Tuohy about his Larceny Games book; Part 1, Part 2; also Liza Lim on Females in Poker and new social sports betting app Youbetme’s CEO Jason Neubauer.  Congratulations to Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen who were elected to the Poker Hall of Fame.

The team was in Paris this week for the WSOP Europe checkout the star-studded WSOPE Main Event Day 1A, Day 1BDay 2Day 3 & Day 4 summaries. Daniel Negreanu won the WSOPE High Roller tournament and Jason Kirk says that win cements Negreanu’s name among the all-time greats.  Lee Davy talks with Timothy Adams who announced he’ll play in the Big One for One Drop next year; Mathew Salsberg who talks about TV and Poker and Bryn Kenney who is a cross between Flavor Flav and Ice-T. Mike O’Donnell asks if Bingo can regain it’s success online.

The Macau gaming show is happening in the middle of November and we give you a preview of what to expect. Japan laid out proposals for their new casino regulation. The new Manila Bay Resorts at Entertainment City is on track for a 2015 opening. In the Robert Gustafsson scandal, things are heating up as the first sets of indictments were laid against the former gambling executive and we’re told more are coming.
