Interview with Kara Scott at the WPT Venice Grand Prix - Day 1A

Kara Scott is one of the busiest people in poker. When she isn’t writing for a wide range of outlets, she is performing in front of the camera as a sideline reporter for companies such as ESPN and PartyPoker, covering events such as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and of course the PartyPoker Premier League. She is also a PartyPoker ambassador of poker meaning she gets to play a little as well. Checkout as Lee talks to Jesse May and Mike Sexton at WPT Venice Day 1A

So what was Kara Scott doing on Day 1A of WPT Venice. This time she was playing, and it turned out to be a great day for her. She flopped quad aces in her very first hand and I guess that set the tone for what would be a wonderful day’s poker; Scott ending the day with over 80,000 chips to put her at the right end of the leader board.

I caught up with her on a break from the action where we discussed her work at the PartyPoker Premier League.

“It was unbelievable. Everyone works really hard to produce the show. We are working 15-16 hours per day, but it’s so much fun and everyone is buzzing.”

So who did Kara think was going to win the event?

“Going in to it I thought Jonathan [Duhamel], and also Jason Mercier, had a great chance. But I wasn’t expecting someone to win who was making their debut. Not with this format.”

Check out what else Scott had to say about the Premier League and the eventual winner Dan Shak.
