Hard Rock, Treasure Island file applications for Nevada online license

hard rockWith the list of operators receiving approvals for online license in Nevada growing and growing by the day, two more Las Vegas casinos have thrown their names into the mix, filing their own applications for licenses to operate online games in the state.

The importance of receiving a license to offer online poker in Nevada has become its own arms race with more and more companies receiving their respective approvals in the past month alone. Now, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and Treasure Island are joining the party with the hope of receiving green lights from the Nevada Gaming Commission.

As one of the more famous destinations anywhere in the Las Vegas Strip, Hard Rock Hotel’s application wasn’t all that surprising considering that pretty much everybody around it have either filed their applications or already received their own approvals in anticipation for the introduction of legalized online gambling in the state. As part of their applications, both Hard Rock and Treasure Island will be asked to shell out a $500,000 application fee, similar to what all those who proceeded them did.

While there doesn’t appear to be any potential snags that would prevent both casinos from receiving their own licenses, any and all measures are being taken by the Nevada Gaming Commission to ensure that both companies are in the up-and-up. Should Hard Rock and Treasure Island both be granted licenses to operate online games in Nevada, they become the 13th and 14th company to receive approval.

Currently, 12 companies have already received their licenses. These include: Boyd Gaming, Golden Nugget, Fertitta Interactive, WMS Gaming Inc., American Casino & Entertainment Properties, Shuffle Master, International Game Technology, South Point Poker, Monarch Interactive, Bally Technologies, Global Cash Access.
