Betsson finalizes NGC acquisition; Americas Cardroom gears up for Punta Cana Poker Classic

Betsson acquires NordicBet

Betsson acquires NordicBetTwo months after Swedish gaming firm Betsson signed a deal to acquire Nordic Gaming Group, the acquisition was officially finalized after meeting regulatory approvals.

As a result of the acquisition, Betsson takes control of the Malta-based Nordic Gaming Group and its three sportsbook, casino and poker subsidiaries, NordicBet, Tobet and Triobet for approximately €65 million. The transaction included cash and a new issue  of 217,974 series B shares that will be exclusively available to the Nordic Gaming Group. In addition, another €20 million could be tacked into the overall purchase price depending on the development of the acquisition price during the year.

“Through this transaction, Betsson continues to strengthen its Nordic operations and its leading position amongst the private gaming company alternatives in the Nordic region,” Silfverberg said back in April when news first broke of Bettson’s acquisition of NGC.

“In addition, Betsson’s brand portfolio is strengthened significantly within the betting segment, as NGG receives approximately fifty percent of its revenues from sportsbook.”
