Unibet buys Bet24; NetPlay TV lauds mobile performance; Income Access helping affiliates
Unibet has reached an agreement to acquire Bet24. The online gaming arm of the Swedish firm Modern Times Group (MTG) becomes part of Unibet for the princely sum of €13.5 million (£11.25 million). It means Unibet will transfer approximately 45 of MTG’s Nordic Betting subsidiary employees into its Maltese business. Hans-Holger Albrecht, president and CEO of MTG, commented: “Unibet is one of the largest and most established players in the European market and therefore provides an attractive platform for Bet24 customers and for the further development of the business.” Bet24 will continue to accept bets via Bet24.com and Bet24.dk and it will eventually be rebranded under the Unibet brand.
NetPlay TV saw its decision to focus on mobile devices pay off as active players on their Supercasino brand mushroomed in Q1 2012. Eighteen percent more players used iPhone or iPad to access the brand with a further 20 percent increase in average daily revenue for the entire company in Q1 2012. The company puts it down to their choice to “invest heavily in TV advertising” and the launch of the aforementioned Supercasino.com iPad app. Next quarter they’re likely to see the decision to launch Jackpot247 on 22 March for both iPhone and iPad pay off.
Income Access has unveiled its latest tool to make the lives of affiliates easier. CentralSTATion is an aggregation feature that will give affiliates access to statistics for the programs they promote in an easier way than ever before. Instead of having multiple logins, the information is available in one place and CEO Nicky Senyard added: “CentralSTATion is an exciting innovation as it is beneficial to affiliates and operators alike. Utilising affiliate feedback, we have crafted a performance enhancing module that will strengthen the connection between affiliates and operators and provide the metrics essential to maximising returns. For our white label partners, CentralSTATion provides an ideal opportunity to enhance their presence in the industry, and establish new partnerships with the affiliate community.”
