JAXX SE expect Schleswig-Holstein licence soon; Sky Bet new appointment; Cantor Gaming release Cantor 5

jaxx skybet cantorGerman based firm JAXX SE is expecting to be granted a licence to operate its sports betting subsidiary in Schleswig-Holstein next month. Its application was filed by the early March deadline and Jaxx “expects it to be granted in the course of April, so that business operations can then start.”myBet’s owners reported revenue increasing 19 percent in 2011 from €51.2 million to €60.7 million and sports betting brand myBet “put on a renewed spurt in Q4.” Sale of their lottery has been delayed but it’s expected to still net them €12.5 million and they aren’t expecting to see Spain open for business until at least the third quarter.

Sky Betting and Gaming has hired a new director of gaming to oversee three of their brands. Glyn Powditch joins up with the company to oversee Sky Vegas, Sky Poker and Sky Bingo. He comes to the firm after a period as head of online at UK Car Group and told eGR: “This is an extremely fast growing industry and with Sky Betting and Gaming being a real leader in mobile and technological innovation, the business is perfectly placed to capitalise upon it.”

Cantor Gaming is launching a new service for basketball bettors. Cantor 5 allows bettors to pick a fantasy basketball team from a pool of NBA players and place wagers on their charges. Cantor starts by selecting a team and then the players can select five players from the remaining pool of players. From this the firm will devise a spread and then you can wager on either your own or Cantor’s team.
