WSOPE dates announced; WPT Shooting Star down to two stars; Sky Poker Tour all set for fourth leg

The second year in Cannes, France will run from Sept. 21 to Oct. 4, 2012 and is identical to 2011 in comprising seven events. It culminates with the NLHE €10,000 + €450 Main Event getting underway on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 where players will look to follow in the footsteps of Elio Fox. The action takes place at the Casino Barriere, the full schedule as follows:

Event one – Sept. 21 – Six Handed No-Limit Hold’em (3 Day Event) €2,500 + €200

Event two – Sept. 22 and 23 (Two starting flights) – NLHE (5 Day Event) €1,000 + €100

Event three – Sept. 24 – 3Pot-Limit Omaha (3 Day Event) €5,000 + €300

Event four – Sept. 25 – NLHE SHOOTOUT (3 Day Event) €3,000 + €250

Event five – Sept. 26 – Mixed-Max (4 Day Event) €10,000 + €450

Event six – Sept. 27 – Six-Handed Pot Limit Omaha (3 Day Event) €1,500 + €150

Event seven – Sept. 29 and 30 (Two starting flights) NLHE Main Event (5 Day Event) €10,000 + €450

Two big names remain amongst the final 20 players in this year’s World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star Main Event. Jonathan Duhamel and JC Tran are the two remaining “Shooting Stars” with the former in a commanding position of sixth with 751,000 chips heading into day three. Leading the field is Scott Baumstein with a stack of 1,301,000. Closest to him is Andrew Badecker on 1,106,000 and Moon Kim with 1,016,000.

Sky Poker Tour’s fourth leg gets underway at two locations this weekend. Glasgow’s Alea Casino and Brighton’s Rendezvous Casino provide the backdrop for the next set of players aiming to get their mitts on a part of the £250,000 prize pool. Registration gets underway at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday Mar. 10, with matches commencing at 8:30 p.m. Each has a £110 buy-in with a player cap of 150 in Glasgow and just 130 in Brighton. The rest of season four takes in Cardiff (Les Croupiers, Apr. 28) and Blackpool (G Casino, June 23 and 24) before the Grand Final in Nottingham (Dusk Till Dawn Sept. 8 and 9).
