Most people on Internet for no reason

Internet UsageIt’s been confirmed!

The Internet is here for our enjoyment and to pass time! That’s after a report from the Pew Research Centre’s Internet and American Life Project found  53% of 18-29 year olds go online just for shits and giggles. It will back up the theories amongst every man and his dog that all the Internet is made up of is pornography and gambling industry pop-ups – which sounds like a lot of fun to us!

The report added that the time you spend doing “eff all” or having a bit of fun corresponds with your age. Over 65s have a lot more to than spend time doing other stuff as only 12% go online for no reason with only 27% of 50-64 year olds answering yes to the fun question. The phone survey didn’t define what the word “fun” might be so it’s open to interpretation.

No doubt some professional poker players would define gambling as anything but fun as it’s a full time job. As a branch of the entertainment industry, it’s just that though. Sports betting makes watching sports all the more exciting to watch and playing poker is a past-time than many take a lot of enjoyment from.

This shouldn’t take away just how much the world’s net economy is worth. In the UK alone, it’s worth an estimated £100bn and if you’re working in the iGaming industry it just shows that even though it’s a serious business fun can be had at the same time. iGaming can go down as one of those businesses where almost everyone is among that 53% mentioned above whilst making a tidy sum of money at the same time.
