Lyceum End of Summer iGaming Social, a gathering for iGaming professionals once a quarterYou know Lyceum is got to be doing something right if they are able to pull off a great end of summer iGaming Social with no external sponsors (shame on you for not sponsoring, by the way!) However, this is the iGaming industry and even though times may be tough for some, we can always find a way to get drunk and have some fun.

Jodie of Lyceum Media is a fan of Shoreditch as it’s one of the hottest night spots in London. Jodie’s choice of venue was a bit off the beaten path but she has a thing for the owner its pretty cool and so worth the trip…at least we felt that way until 11:30pm.

The social venue, McQueen, features an upstairs “bar” and a downstairs “club” which also doubles as a live music stage during the earlier hours of the evening. The bar vs. club label became painfully apparent when we were denied any access to alcohol in the bar after 11:30pm. The club downstairs was happy to serve post 11:30pm, however the grumpy bartender refused to serve any shots other than straight booze and suggested that we go upstairs for concoctions like that even though it was blatantly past 11:30.

Not the best customer service we’ve ever seen, but hey, at least there were pics of nude rocker chicks on the wall.

Despite the quirks of the venue, the general vibe of the social was excellent and iGaming professionals were clearly in attendance to have a good time and a good time only. I mean, how could you not have a good time when Michael Caselli is running around in tight leather pants?

Something else that we really enjoyed was Lyceum’s distribution of fruity rum cocktails to those who said please and thank you very nicely. Hyperion’s reps were also generous in their cocktail distribution along with Andy Jones’s VIP table of vodka, coke and Playboy energy drinks.

We appreciate the generosity people and everyone looks forward to the next Lyceum iGaming Social which will be taking place in late November, just in time for the holidays.
