Cherry appoints new COO

cherryCherryföretagen continues to shake up its upper management. Earlier this month, the company reported the appointment of Betsafe chairman Emil Sunvisson as the company’s new president and CEO .

Now the Board of Cherry Malta Ltd and EuroSlots Ltd, subsidiaries of Cherry, has appointed Marius Andersen as COO for business area Online Gaming. Marius Andersen takes the position on July 11, 2011, and will be based in Malta.

Andersen recently served as a business area manager within Cherryföretagen, but had also previously held the title of country manager for Betsson in Norway.

Andersen will be in charge of Cherryföretagen’s online gaming segment which has grown to account for more than half of the company’s total revenues.

The company has recently expanded its offering through the acquisition of AutomatGruppen last year which includes the SverigeAutomaten.com, NorgesAutomaten.com and DanmarksAutomaten.com brands. Additionally, earlier this year, Cherry launched its massive EuroLotto.com daily lottery draw which is available in 23 European languages and devotes a portion of its profits to the Special Olympics Norway.
