Huawei new tabletHuawei are the latest company to announce a tablet that will run on Google’s Android OS – this one’s slightly different though. Apart from being slightly smaller at 7-inches, the device will be the first one to run on Android Honeycomb 3.2. If the controversies with the look of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab are anything to go by the company could also have Apple knocking down the door at some point soon. That’s all because the device just looks like a slightly bigger version of the iPhone 4. That’s not to take away from it though.

According to the report on engadget, the device is chunkier than the Galaxy Tab. It has all the features you’d expect from a high-end tablet and even comes with a large amount of HDMI support. The price is not yet known and is being “sorted with retail partners and providers.” It’s expected to hit the shelves in the US in Q3 and should help take Android to the next level.

The other major player in the tablet market, Apple, has shown that the invincibility shield doesn’t work in every country. After topping the brand charts in both the UK and US the guys at Apple HQ must have been puzzled that India only saw them make number 40 on the list. The survey, commissioned by TLG, shows that their business model isn’t currently suited to the country and they’re playing catch up to Google who sit in third on the list. Steve Jobs and the boys haven’t adapted their model to the locality and as such look like paying for it. Interestingly for three iPhones you can get a car.
