People may already think that Facebook and Twitter is enough of an invasion on privacy. Apple though is set to enter the next frontier of social networking with a new App that’s in development. Technology blog FastCompany are reporting that a patent registered by the company may be about to take dating and social networking to the next level. According to the article on FastCompany, “It’s all about, as Apple puts it, working out “common interests and experiences of two or more users” from their device and web content and noting if they’re “located close to each other.” Yup, it’s a dating service, from Apple.”
By the sounds of things, Apple is planning to use all the information you put into your iPhone to create a social profile for you. Single people will be in raptures at this new advancement and men the world over will be hoping that this will be out before their next night out on the tiles.
More comment from Apple read as follows, “Techniques for ad hoc networking based on content and location can be implemented to achieve the following exemplary advantages.
“Two strangers located closed to each other, both having requested to participate in the ad hoc networking based on content and location, can start a conversation from common interests or experiences identified by the ad hoc networking based on content and location. The identified common interests or experiences can be based on actions a user actually performed, rather that what the user says he or she did or liked.”
It was obviously only a matter of time until Apple delved even further into the social networking landscape and this will certainly knock spots of their Ping iTunes attempts. This is another boost for the youthful market that use the iPhone. Although if you don’t even have to put in the legwork to get a pull then it defeats the fun of it. Remember: the joy is always in the chase.
