Sexting claims another victim

andrew weinerI’ve talked at length about the dangers of sexting or sending sexually suggestive images of yourself or out on social media. We live in an age where a few cock shots and a bare chest sent to the wrong person can turn into a huge scandal very quickly. And though for the most part, I’ve had fun with the topic, there was a very real message that I was trying to convey, especially to the old school cats.

Nothing you do on the internet is personal or private! No photo you take, no message you send through your phone, nothing. The sooner people in positions of power understand this simple concept about digital media, the sooner all these scandals will end. Unfortunately, our cheap laughs at other men dumb enough to send cock shots to strangers will end too.

It seems though, old habits die hard. No pun intended.

Recently, US Congressman Andrew Weiner…Yes his last name is Weiner… Was forced to admit that he had been sexting sexually suggestive texts and photos of himself after initially denying the allegations. Weiner was forced to come clean after ABC News ran an interview with Megan Broussard, who was one of the recipients of Weiner’s sexting.

Naturally, Weiner’s first response was say that his Twitter account had been hacked, while hackers are responsible for many leaks these days, Weiner’s wiener wasn’t one of them.

According to the ABC News interview, Weiner also sent other photos, including one under the subject line “Me and the pussys,” which appears to show Weiner sitting on a sofa in an undershirt next to cats, and another showing a man’s erect penis.

According to ABC News report “I didn’t think it was him,” Broussard said. “I thought for sure, ‘Why would someone in that position be doing this?”

Exactly. The logical answer is because he didn’t think sexting could get him in this much hot water.

Comedian John Stewart had a field day with it, here’s a funny clip.
