Classic Dance Moves

elaineHave you ever had one of those moments where you’re at one of the greatest parties you ‘ve ever been to and suddenly, as if the DJ was your best friend reading your mind, he starts playing one of your all-time favourite tunes?

Everyone’s reaction to that situation is the same, you lose your goddamn mind!

These days, there’s all sorts of new dances the young kids are doing. I try and keep abreast on all the new moves just in case I need to represent on the dance-floor. It comes in handy. From C-Walking to the Harlem Shake to the Soulja Boy Superman, and from the Jitterbug to the Jerk, I got all of that. And make no mistake, “All my bitches love me, you ain’t messing with my Dougy.”

In actuality, like many other tone deaf people, I probably look like Elaine dancing on Seinfeld. But it’s all good and it’s all fun. Whether you’re doing the twist or the Carlton dance, from new school to old school moves, it doesn’t hurt to have them all in your repertoire, or at least your version of them.

Most of us end up looking like this anyways.

Since the iGaming Super Show and the epic CalvinAyre.com Seven Deadly Sins Party is right around the corner; and those lucky industry professionals who will be in attendance are likely to find themselves in a situation where it’s time to lose their goddamn minds and bust a move, here’s some classic dance moves to help channel the madness into rhythm.

Moonwalk
I would estimate that maybe 1 in a 100 people know how to moonwalk, maybe less. If you know how to moonwalk, it is your duty to bust it out as soon as the opportunity remotely presents itself.

The Running Man A.k.A The Roger Rabbit
It’s old school, but it’s timeless, don’t let anyone tell you different. The best thing about the Running Man is that everyone has their own hilarious remixed version of it. I like to throw random freeze frames in mine, before switching up my angle. Don’t bite that.

The Electric Slide
Almost everyone over the age of 25 knows how to do the Electric slide in the mid-west part of the United States, but it might leave people a little confused across the pond. The best part about this dance is that it’s a group dance, if only you can find anyone willing to put it on the line in the middle of the party and slide and slide and slide!

Water Sprinkler
One of my personal favourites, this is to be done whenever you feel it’s necessary, just make sure you have enough room, I’ve seen some messy accidents and too many spilled drinks with this move.

The Robot
No matter what anyone tells you, a good Robot dance will never ever go out of style. The best part about the robot is anyone can do it. But the key to having the best robot is to think a like robot…

I’m sure I’m leaving out some other classics, feel free to add on to this list. In the meantime, here’s some great moves to break out at the Seven Deadly Sins Party. Enjoy.
