Before we begin, let me just say that I tried not to get too excited about Dancing With The Stars Season 12, particularly because it’s always seemed too trivial to me who gets voted off and when. One contestant can have a brilliant performance one week and be immediately voted off the next week.
For other contestants, it doesn’t seem to matter what they do, or how they dance, they’re so beloved by the judges and the crowd they can do no wrong, like Kristie Alley. That said, like many other people, I still couldn’t resist placing a bet on the reality tv series.
When DWTS 12 first began, I knew from the very beginning that the Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio would be in the mix to win it all. He’s actually not so much of a kid anymore, and at age 49, he’s experiencing some of the aches and pains you would expect. Turns out that Macchio performed his routine earlier this week with a painful cyst behind his knee, which in turn lead to him being part of the elimination show.
My bet on Macchio was in serious jeopardy.
The elimination show was an even bigger surprise as instead of Macchio getting the axe, Romeo’s name was called, and the former kid rapper got the boot from the show. Injustice? But as I have learned, injustice is what DWTS is all about.
I should have never doubted that Macchio could perform even with just one good leg. After all, he was trained by Mr. Miyagi and if my memory serves me correct, the Karate Kid won his first tournament on one leg. Wax on Macchio, wax on.
