Samsung developing dual-core 2GHz processor phoneIt’s believed that technology giant Samsung are aiming to release the first smart phone to feature a dual-core 2GHz processor. As far as markets that continue to evolve are concerned, the smart phone market is faster than Usain Bolt on speed – and it just doesn’t show signs of stopping.

Its fast paced nature is good news for the online gaming industry as they continue to develop increasing amounts of content for smart phones and the latest development to come out of technology firm Samsung will be music to the ears of the industry.

“We are planning to release a 2GHz dual core CPU-equipped smartphone by next year. This product will have the data processing capacities of a regular PC,” said a high-ranking official from Samsung, according to South Korean search engine Daum.

Samsung, reportedly, also plans to sell the processors to other phone makers and it will have those in the mobile gaming area excited at the prospect of having the gap between a PC and phone close so drastically.

It’s still obviously a long way from getting into your phone and such a powerful processor may make the current Apple iPhone’s battery life seem like a beast. You can imagine it now…you get out your new Samsung smartphone and before you’ve even composed a text the blasted thing dies due to battery life.

It comes after Samsung already updated their forthcoming Galaxy S II to a 1.2GHz dual-core from the original 1GHz dual-core, with its release set for May 1st. The fact that they could almost double this in 12 months time should give those moaning about iPhone 5 delays something to chat about for 20 minutes.

Dual Core powered Smartphone CPU. Samsung smartphones has definitely been interesting from the start, hopefully android can have an equivocal OS for it to sustain its computing power.
